This photograph was taken on a holiday in Lanzarotte in about 1980. The following year we went to Port Isaac whereSara and Jamie went off Pony trecking. This was definitely a Time Trouser event. They both became obsessed with Horses but what if they had gone down the other trouser leg and become obsessed with camels? how do you change a camels rug? Do they need fly spray? How do you get one on a lorry if it gets stroppy? What a surprise for local farriers etc.

Well you look very happy on that camel! So you certainly don't have 'the hump'! Oh silly me it's the camel thats got the hump!
horses spit a good deal less but would be no use at all for crossing the sahara, not that we need to worry about those sort of temperatures in the uk or even a summer at all
This photo must represent the high spot of the camel experience -they're not at all friendly when you try to get on or off them .... unlike the friendly camel owners who assist you - or perhaps its different in Lanzarote to Tunisia! (For the record - having witnessed the undignified ascent and descent of camel, I declined, so don't have a lovely camel pic like you - however, I have an elephant one)
